HFE-50RW High-Frequency Electrosurgical Unit "Nadiya-2"
The device is designed for high-frequency (HF) current coagulation and cutting of soft tissues and blood vessels in microsurgery, neurosurgery, cosmetology, ophthalmology, dentistry, and veterinary medicine.
It is intended for use in specially equipped rooms at ambient temperatures from 10°C to 35°C and relative humidity up to 80% at an ambient temperature of 25°C.
Operating Principle
The unit is a source of high-frequency current.
HF voltage is applied to the active and passive (monopolar) electrodes or to the bipolar forceps (electrode) and delivered to the patient's tissue.
The electrosurgical cutting and coagulation effect is based on sufficient heating of biological tissues by a narrow HF current stream at the contact point of the active electrode or between the tips of the bipolar forceps.
When using monopolar electrodes, the active electrode is significantly smaller than the passive one, which creates higher current density near the active electrode. This results in intense tissue heating. When the power is sufficient, the tissue fluid vaporizes, rupturing the tissue and creating a cutting effect.
When using bipolar forceps, both electrodes are active, equal in size, and positioned close to each other. HF voltage applied between them heats the tissue. At a certain temperature, proteins within the tissue coagulate, resulting in coagulation.
Technical Specifications and Features
- The unit supports two operation modes: cutting (CUT) and coagulation (COAG).
- Maximum output power at optimal load (500±50 Ohm) – 50±10 W.
- Minimum output power at optimal load – not more than 3 W.
- Output power adjustment is discrete in all modes, from minimum to maximum.
- Load range: 10 – 5000 Ohm.
- The unit ensures 8 hours of operation at maximum output power in an intermittent duty cycle: HF current ON time – 10 s, pause – 30 s.
- Continuous connection time to the power supply network – up to 8 hours.
Package Contents
- Electronic unit with footswitch – 1 pc.
- Monopolar electrode holder, Ø2 mm – 1 pc.
- Passive electrode – 1 pc.
- Set of cosmetology electrodes – 1 set.
Device Design
The device consists of two separate parts: the electronic unit and the footswitch.
Front Panel of the Electronic Unit |
![]() |
The electronic unit is made of plastic housing consisting of two covers (top and bottom) and two panels (front and rear).
The front panel contains the following controls and indicators:
- Power switch-indicator "POWER" (1);
- Output power adjustment knob (2);
- Blue signal indicator (3) – HF generator activation;
- Toggle switch (4) – operation mode selector: cutting (CUT) or coagulation (COAG);
- Connector "PASS" (5) – for connecting the passive electrode cable;
- Connector "ACT 1" (6) – for connecting active electrode holder or epilation needle holder;
- Connector "ACT 2" (7) – for connecting active electrode holder;
- Connectors "ACT 1" (6) and "PASS" (5) – for connecting bipolar forceps holder.
Rear Panel of the Electronic Unit |

The rear panel includes: "PEDAL" connector (1) for connecting the footswitch and power cord (2) for plugging into a 220 V, 50 Hz outlet.
Footswitch |

The footswitch is a floor-mounted platform. The spring-loaded platform (1) moves vertically: pressing it downward activates HF voltage, releasing it turns off the voltage.
The footswitch connects to the electronic unit via a cable and plug (2).
